Neon Sign Repairs

Neon signs don’t last forever without a little care — glass sections can crack, gas can leak, and transformers wear out over time. I offer professional neon sign repair in Los Angeles and Orange County, working directly on glass, gas, and wiring issues in my own studio rather than shipping your sign out to someone else. Simple repairs typically start at $125–$300, with most jobs turned around in two weeks to a month. Whether it’s a small beer sign or a vintage piece worth bringing back to life, I’ll give you an honest look at what it needs before any work begins.

Neon Sign Repair in Los Angeles

If your neon sign has stopped lighting up, is flickering, has a cracked section of glass, or just isn't glowing the way it used to, I repair neon signs at my Echo Park and Costa Mesa studio — for businesses, collectors, and anyone with a piece worth bringing back to life.

Common Neon Sign Problems I Repair

  • Sections that won't light — often a gas leak, a bad seal, or an electrode issue

  • Flickering or dimming — usually points to a failing transformer or a loose connection

  • Cracked or broken glass tubing — sections can often be rebuilt without replacing the entire sign

  • Uneven or inconsistent glow — can indicate gas pressure issues or aging phosphor coating

  • Buzzing or humming sounds — typically a transformer problem, worth addressing before it fails completely

  • Old or vintage signs that have gone dark — bringing older pieces back to life is some of my favorite repair work, since it often means restoring a piece of real history rather than just fixing a fixture

Why Work With a Real Neon Studio for Repairs

A lot of "repair" services are really just middlemen who ship your sign out to someone else. I fabricate neon myself, in my own studio, which means I actually understand how a sign was built in the first place — the glass bending, the gas fill, the wiring — not just how to swap a part. That matters for repair work specifically: diagnosing what's actually wrong with a neon sign takes the same hands-on knowledge it takes to build one.

Vintage and Older Sign Repair

Older neon signs, including genuinely vintage pieces, need a different level of care than a sign built last year — matching original glass color, working with aging components, and sometimes simply figuring out what a sign even needs after years of wear. I take on vintage neon sign repair regularly, and it's some of the most rewarding work I do: getting a piece of real neon history glowing again, rather than replacing it with something new.

Serving Los Angeles and Surrounding Areas

I repair neon signs throughout Los Angeles, including Hollywood, Costa Mesa, Orange County, Burbank, and surrounding neighborhoods, with pickup and drop-off available for most jobs, or in-studio service for pieces that can be brought to Echo Park or to Costa Mesa hub directly. For sensitive or difficult-to-move installations, I can also discuss on-site evaluation.

Repair Pricing and Turnaround

For a simple repair — a beer sign or small piece that's stopped working — typical pricing starts at $125 to $300, depending on the severity of the break and what's actually needed to fix it. Larger or more complex signs, or repairs involving significant glass work, will run higher; I'll always give you a real assessment before starting any work.

Turnaround for most repairs runs about two weeks to a month, depending on the scope of the repair and current shop schedule. Vintage or harder-to-source glass colors can occasionally extend that timeline.

What to Expect

  1. Tell me what's wrong — a photo or video of the issue helps a lot, even before you bring the sign in

  2. Diagnosis — I'll identify whether it's a glass, gas, or electrical issue, and give you an honest assessment of what it'll take to fix

  3. Repair — most repairs are turned around efficiently, with the goal of getting your sign back to full brightness, not just "working again"

  4. Return or reinstall — pickup, drop-off, or reinstallation depending on the piece

Have a neon sign that needs repair? Reach out with a photo or description of the issue, and I'll let you know what it'll take to bring it back to life.
