Project

Neon Sign Paradise for Playboy Store at Westfield Century City Mall

Six custom neon moments built for Playboy's pop-up store at Westfield Century City Mall, a fast-turnaround retail install with longtime collaborator Pop Up Mob, blending nostalgic branding with bold interior lighting. Neon Flamingo was commissioned by Playboy to design and fabricate six custom neon sign moments for their retail pop-up store at Westfield Century City Mall, a 2,300-square-foot space that brought the brand's first company-owned storefront to Los Angeles. The project was executed in collaboration with Pop Up Mob, a production team Neon Flamingo works with regularly on fast-moving retail installations.

Six Neon Moments, One Cohesive Story

The brief called for six neon pieces placed through the store instead of one storefront sign. Each works as its own photo moment while still reading as part of a single interior. The logo work leaned on Playboy's brand history for nostalgia, with saturated lighting to give the room energy in a space built around impulse visits and social posts.

A Trusted Partner for Fast-Turnaround Retail Builds

We have worked with Pop Up Mob on several projects, and the standard is simple: quick turnarounds and clean installs. Pop-up retail runs on tight timelines. A space has to be finished and photo-ready by opening day, with no room for delays.

That is why the relationship keeps going. When a production team knows the work will land on schedule, they call again.
